Consigning MAWB and Pre-Alert information A pre-alert should be sent to the respective ITM office via scanned email attachment or via fax, containing all required documents (ensuing the required information is clearly legible) and must be received by ITM as early as possible to enable electronic reporting to the Australian Customs Service. With the new Australian customs CMR (Cargo Management RE-engineering) regulations, we are required to report cargo information electronically (at least 2 hours prior to flight arrival at the first Australian airport for airfreight and at least 48 hours prior to vessel arrival at first Australian Port for ocean freight) within standard business hours of 09:00am – 5:00pm Monday-Sunday. Failure to comply with this regulation will cause fines to be imposed and passed on to the overseas forwarding agent.
